About Us

Intervention, Inc. is a Colorado-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that has been serving communities since 1986. For four decades, we have partnered with local governments and justice agencies to provide effective, community-based alternatives to incarceration, helping individuals succeed while strengthening public safety.

Our story

Our work is grounded in collaboration. We partner closely with city, county, judicial district, and state agencies to deliver responsive, evidence-based services across Jefferson, Pueblo, Fremont, Chaffee, Park, Adams, Broomfield, Weld, and Boulder Counties.

We began by offering in-home detention monitoring, and in 1990 became the first nonprofit organization in Colorado to provide private probation services. Today, Intervention, Inc. is a trusted leader in private probation, electronic monitoring, alcohol and drug testing, and specialty supervision programs, including Inmate-Outmate and High-Risk DUI services.

In 2002, we expanded our mission by opening our first community corrections program in Jefferson County. Since then, we have become a long standing nonprofit provider of community corrections services in Colorado, with programs currently operating in Jefferson, Pueblo, Weld, and Adams Counties. Our facilities focus on successful reentry, offering individualized case management, educational opportunities, and job placement support, providing a proven alternative to prison that leads to better outcomes and reduced recidivism.

In 2020, we launched the Community Connections Center (C3) in Jefferson County. C3 is a one-stop resource hub that connects justice-involved individuals to resources to assist with stabilization and setting them up for success. Services include Medicaid and SNAP enrollment, housing support, transportation assistance, license/CO ID, food and clothing, sober living resources, treatment and employment assistance, all in one welcoming location.

Intervention, Inc. also operates a Victim Services Division. This division supports victims of crime by providing dignity, fairness and respect as called for in the Colorado Victim Rights Amendment as well as providing statutorily mandated critical stage event notifications, community referrals and individual advocacy as part of the post-conviction phase of the criminal and social justice system. In addition, the Victim Services Division has an effective Survivor Empathy Panel that provides survivors of crime the opportunity to speak about their experiences that helps them heal while providing empathy awareness and development to offenders on community supervision.

Behavioral Treatment Services

Intervention, Inc. works in close partnership with Behavioral Treatment Services (BTS), an independent nonprofit organization that plays a vital role in supporting the individuals we serve. BTS provides mental health and substance use treatment for justice‑involved individuals, delivering clinical services within Intervention’s community corrections facilities as well as through its standalone office in Jefferson County. This collaborative approach allows participants to access treatment and supervision in a coordinated, supportive environment, addressing underlying behavioral health needs that are critical to long‑term stability, recovery, and successful reintegration into the community.
